Getting Started

Discussion started by mashrok

Hi, my wife and I both work full time but could do with a little more income so thought we'd try our hand at selling 3D models on here as a passive income source.

We've only been doing this a few weeks now and had to buy some second hand equipment to get going. At the moment my wife does the photography side while I make up the models and it seems to be going fairly well, finding it a lot of fun usually!

We've not had any sales at all yet but we're not too concerned as we've read that we might need 100+ models before we even start to get noticed.

So far we've only uploaded models scanned using photogrammetry with Agisoft standard edition, but will do other things once we know what we're doing a little more.

Anyway I was hoping for some feedback, because while we're fairly happy with how our models are turning out there is always a worry that we're actually just producing garbage!

I assume my profile here is linked to my sale profile, but in case it's not my models are here:

Any feedback good or bad is welcome.

Thanks

Jim

Good models at a good price. You'll probably do well as you develop a larger inventory. I'll probably purchase a few of your items in time. I ilke that your models are mostly clean quads, and are available in *.fbx file format. Pretty useful for people like myself who need these kinds of assets from time to time. Good luck to you and your wife.

Models seem fine.....but there is already a number of these here on CGtrader and other 3D sites too. Perhaps you need to focus on more obscure vegetables or varieties perhaps.....i.e be more original. Also my advice always link your models to and from other external sites to help people find them and drive sales....and when you have enough start to make collections/bundles! Good luck!
