About discounts... once again

Discussion started by LemonadeCG

At the risk of sounding like a broken record, i would like to address to cgtrader team. Please give us an option to join discount program with lower rates. I took an opportunity to briefly join discount program on black fridy - cyber monday weekend when cgtrader was giving away its commisions. It was a good experience, because there was definite increase in sales at the cost of slight lower revenue. Unfortunatelly now i had to quit program again, because at the minimal 30% rate it will never be profitable. Offering discounts may attract 5-15% more sales, but definitely not 30%. So please, please, give us an option to choose discount rates starting from 5-10%, so that we could try to find the sweet spot between increased traffic and lower revenue by ourselves.

Hey, every single vote counts. The more people will show that they care about CGT damaging the market, the more chances that they will start to listen.

I think this whole % issue wouldn't exist if Cg-Trader didn't do as many sales/$200 give aways so often. The fact there are so many sales basically means buyers only wait for sales and our own sales mean very little. Maybe CG-Trader should not do any sales between now and after Christmas. Considering black Friday sale was for a week... Yeah it was profitable, and I'm not gonna complain about that, but I just think less sales overall might fix some of the overall issues.

At the begining it meant to be working like that. CGT said that 30% would be the max and discount events won't be too frequent. But now 30% is minimal rate and breaks bettween discount events are few and far appart each other. And i'm not even talking about loyalty program, which lost its purpose long time ago and now is just a bad joke.

There is a good way out of this all, and don't think about it again.
Just turn off all discounts and live in peace. Sell with discount or not it's your chose.
Or:
For example you want ~10$ income for model sale. Just add price for model ~19$. (~ +50%)
19-30%=13.3-20%=10.64$, there will be some pay pal fees, and income % may be different, but that not a case.
For example turbosquid, to get 10$ income my model must cost 25$, and this is without discounts, what are on turbosquid too.
I can sell on CGT models with discount and earn more + i can sell it cheaper than on turbosquid.
Low priced models will be mostly sold with 30% (if u are checked in loyalty program)
But if u want 50$ for your model.
CGT: Model cost 89$, with 30% discount you get 50$ income, but if buyer have 5 coins it will be 6% discount and income will be about 65$
TS: Model Cost 89$, your income is 35.6$. If buyer is from USA then 28.5$. And with discount u earn nothing.

What i want to say, selling here with discounts you can earn more and cheaper than on turbosquid.

Its indeed always better then Ts, I never have seen sales like this black Friday, sold 42 models and made more then 800 just in this one weekend here, that's more then I usually get in one month with all my accounts combined. However leading up to black Friday I could see a small down trend but then again overall sales was great. On Ts my account was dead, CGt was able to collect the customers for me so thumbs up. Anyways, on Ts I cannot imagine giving away additional discounts on top of the small royalty so absolutely in favor on how CGt is managing this so far.
