How to make buyer leave a review / rating without asking them to?, seems like it's such a chore for them to leave a review, i only have 1 buyer that leave a review because i agree his price negotiation in exchange him leaving a review

If after buying a model on the site an offer appeared like "Write a review and get a discount on future purchases" perhaps the situation would be different.
Maybe in the future it is worth implementing such an option on CGTrader.

On Envato market for example, many items have stars icons and a sentence like "Please rate" on renders. I'm not sure it's really very effective, but you can try. Why not?

Well, or if you find true fans of the characters you have presented, they would probably be happy to write a lot of reviews without any additional conditions.

This has been discussed before. Persuasion with the hopes of a discount is a good idea, because you can't force customers to do a review. If you do, they may not fill it out honestly and just put in one or zero stars (if that is a metric) or comment something by tapping a few keys on the keyboard. If a customer is really impressed, they will leave a review.

However, there has been many times members complained about inaccurate reviews on here, where customers who download models were not satisfied with their purchase because they didn't read the description of the model. So even having a review could be a double edged sword. Do people even read reviews? Do they really create an uplift in sales?

Do those here who expect reviews from customers, actually do reviews themselves? Be honest.

In addition, settings can added an option to change the size of the discount that will be offered to the buyer after purchase. But of course within reasonable limits so that there are no options "I will give you a 95% discount if you leave a review".

Another variant, maybe give the buyer a choice of two options. For example, simple short review - 5% discount, detailed review - 15%. And additionally give the seller the opportunity to adjust the size of both discounts.

Most buyers don't give reviews, as we know. Giving a discount for reviews is just going to generate a bunch of false reviews as the customer just wants the discount, and no one will pay attention to the review system any more. All I can suggest is that if a customer contacts you for some reason: a question, support, whatever, then don't be shy to ask for a review. I have found customers to be accommodating in that circumstance.

The maximum discount amount and the maximum number of discounts received per day/month for purchases may be limited, and there will be no bunch of false reviews.

If for example the buyer receives a 5% discount for each review he will have an incentive to buy more models in order to get a 50% discount in the end and also have a good incentive for further purchases. The designers have both reviews and sales, the buyer is also satisfied. And what's wrong with that?

And what does a "false" review mean in general? A review written just to get a discount? Well, of course sitting without sales with a bare ass and begging to write at least something is much better because in this case all the reviews will be crystal honest and sincere, and not written only for profit.

It's like the comments and "Likes" against your models. 95% (probably even higher) are just other designers writing "good model" or some other inane rubbish; and they are doing it just to get 1 reputation point, which is way less than a 5% discounts. I believe that system has a daily limited on it as well, but it hasn't stopped anyone or helped. No buyer pays attention to these comments and likes because they are meaningless and have completely devalued whatever value may have been intended for that system. If you start giving out discounts for reviews, then the review system will quickly turn into the same useless, steaming heap. Look, just my take on it, what do I know? Not exactly rolling in sales or reviews myself!

Ok, it can be made easier, without discounts. After the purchase appears a small form with an offer to rate 1-5 stars and write a review. Options must be switchable. If you don't want to give a discount for a review, no problem, include a form in which there will be only text. If you are not interested in reviews at all, disable both options.

As others say above, the most efficient thing known here is a thank you message with a discount code, it has worked for me since the first week I started doing it, it is also a sales technique widely used by many companies and stores, so it must be effective.

Perhaps the artists who think that reviews are so important, could, indeed, ask for a review in the model description.

"If you like my work, please leave a review. This will help me to keep on designing more models, like the one you downloaded."

It's asking without bugging the customer with an email or personal message. If the customer doesn't read the model description, then they're probably not the kind of persons who would consider writing a review anyways.

I think the main reason people don't leave reviews, is because they are bombarded with review requests with everything they purchase. For example, I always buy my PLA filament and photopolymer resin on Amazon. I write a review on them the after the first time I order them and found them to be a great product, but Amazon constantly bugs me to write a review every single time I order the same product. Another example, is that I buy some replacement controllers for my son's Wii. What can I write in the review, except that "They work". Shouldn't that be an expectation?

If I'm planning on buying an expensive model, you bet I'm going to read the description and reviews to ensure that it suits my needs, but for something $10 and under? Forget it. It's not worth my time, unless it's the "be all-end all" or "life-changing" model. LOL.
