has something happened?

Discussion started by Siquier

I am not a great seller, but for years I have always sold regularly, until a month ago when I did not sell anything. I wonder if it is due to a bad streak or if something happened?
Thanks in advance

did you literally mean you didn't have ANY sale at all last month??, because it's kinda hard to believe for a seller of your reputation point

It’s understandable to be concerned about not selling anything after years of regular sales. This drop could be due to shifts in market demand, increased competition, or changes in platform algorithms. Consider evaluating your marketing strategies and exploring current trends to regain visibility and boost sales.

I think the industry recently is just in a really bad spot, so professionals have no reason to buy models, and hobbyists are out of money to.

Agree but I also want to add that hobbyist in many cases don't have to spend any money on models if they going to use it for a rendered image, Ai can do the job now.

Your portfolio is very nice and your models seem to be of high quality, so I am sure that´s not the issue.
Many have complained about a downward turn in sales, and I think it might be a combination of CGT´s algorithm and search function being messed up.
(As a frequent customer, I find it hard to find what I am looking for as many relevant search results simply don´t show up.)

Add to those factors, the fact that AI has exploded.
Like a Blender Youtuber explained (and I am paraphrasing): "I could do most of this with AI, but I like doing it myself in 3d as it´s more satisfying".
If you work professionally with 3d models, you probably can´t afford to care about "doing it yourself", you care about getting it done and making money.
If you´re using 3d for concept art, illustrations or basic 3d animations, it´s faster and cheaper to use AI for a lot of it. Not all, but a lot of it.
It might be different for hobbyists, but then the question is: what kind of budget do you have to spend on 3d models, and how important is it to "do it yourself"?

On top of that, we have a financial situation in most parts of the World that also puts a damper on people´s willingness - and ability - to spend money on models.
Just my 2 cents.
