It hard to set the price in cgtrader 

cgtrader tell :

   But ....


if i set model from 3$-9$ - i got 0.46$ to 6.22$ (because 9 * 0.96 - 2*1.21 = 6.22$ ) 

4% fee if someone sent money to you and 21% tax VAT paypal if you send money to cgtrader , mean 15.3% - 70% royality rate

From 10$ - 49$  got 3.55$ to 40.99$ ( 35.5% to 83.6 % )

From 50$ - 149$  got 35.9$ to 130.94$ ( 71.8% to 87.8 % )

From 150$ - 299 $ got 125.85$ to 268.89$ ( 83.9% to  89.99 % )

I don't caculate the price from 300$ because it  very rare in cgtrader


As you can see, you only got 90% royality if the model set the price to 299$, but how many model can access to this price ??? and how many buyer ready to buy it , it is very rare

And you can see if you set the price 49$ or 50$, it have the real diffirent, if you sold a model 49$ you got 40.99$ but if you sold a model 50$ you only have 35,99$

This is the real problem, it make the seller feel very hard to set the price.


I think cgtrader need a better solution than this, i think cgtrader should charge 20% royality of each model rather than need credit fee for each model sold

and have the minium price for each model, maybe 15$ and follow the set price of other 3dsite.

Tier 1 should not even exist in the first place - it just attracts undercutters and shitty models. Not to mention customers who expect to get anything for a few bucks (one offered 6usd for my MS Surface model a couple days ago).

I mean remove all the ties, let the seller free set the price but keep the minimum price ( maybe 15$ ) to removed bad quality models and undercutted artists.

Cgtrader can keep 20% royalities, i think 80% royality for seller is good for artist,
If they do that they will take more responbility for both seller and buyer.

I think it would be a mistake to go down the same route as other stock sites (a flat % to CGT per sale - even if the seller gets a bigger % than on TS). T3DS tried this method and failed.

CGT's unique selling point is the credit system for activating sold models. In time this will attract more sellers, and so more buyers. When there are more buyers here we will really see how this system is better for the seller than TS.

I agree ditch tier 1, but there needs to be another tier between 2 and 3 (at $90 for $7 activation).

This is an unique system and it is very good in many ways.
GCT credits are also easy to exchange in this way via community efforts and that sort of thing, This is where the real power of CGT is ultimately going to shine. Concerning the 49 versus 50 dollars, I indeed also find myself hoping back and forth between setting the price at 49 ore a big step up to somewhere in the order of 90 dollars.

A tier between 2 and 3, activation at 7 dollars would indeed help solve this problem, looking something like "Tier 10 to 49 = 5 dollars / 49 to 90 = 7 dollars / 90 to 149 = 10 dollars".

Note: The tier 1 category can be filtered out very easily with the price range filter on the main page.

The method of credit will only work well if you are selling models with a certain value.
