Hi!
I sell all my models without rigging, and I they do sell, however I can't say if they would sell better if they were rigged.
In my case, non-rigged models are a better option because:
1. I save time and I can focus in creating more models instead of rigging.
2. You don't know how the buyer is going to use the model. Maybe the rig you make works for them, but maybe they need a very specific kind of rig, some particular deformation, more or less bones, maybe they have to fit the mesh to a rig they already have, etc. There can be many technical aspects to consider. Chances are the buyer will be re-making the rig from scratch, so any time you invested will be wasted.
3. A good rigger can rig a model relatively quickly, so if that is not your main skill, why spend time in it, if the result is not going to be top quality? Focus in your strenghts.
Again, this is just based on my own experience, I'm sure there are people who appreciate full rigged models, ready for animation.
There are designers here that sell their models fully rigged and they seem to be doing great!
I'd like to hear their opinion too :)
