Tricky Refund Issue

Discussion started by Dreamscape

Has anyone ever been in a situation when a client buys 3D
model from website and afterwards expects money back because he/she assumed
an actual physical model (by mail or maybe by
some magical trick???) instead of electronic downloads? And we are talking about airplane here. The interesting
thing to think about in a case of refund is that the client still has the model files
to use or sell in a future.

personally i think the customer is mistaken for buying without reading the Product details .
and once the model file is out . its out .. there is no way you can get it back
in this case i believe it is ur choice .. to stick to the rules ( his mistake ) . or to value customer service and refund even if just percentage . so that it wont be total loss for both sides .

You are probably right Ahmad and we are planning on refund. On other hand full refund is unfair to us, because 11% of the money went to CGTrader as credits. We are trying to figure out the best solution for the customer, for CGTrader and for us.

You can contact cgtrader support and ask them to check if the model was downloaded (been asking for download stats for over a year now, but it seems that focusing on print ready models is more important over here).

As I had plenty of "thought it was real" idiots (no point in denying that these peope are not the brightest bulbs) purchasing my models (some even implying that they were scammed), I would suggest keeping the money, especially if it was a model of a plane.

This problem does not occur so often. But I urge CG to think about it.
The buyer must read the warning before payment, that this is NOT a PHYSICAL MODEL and he agrees with this.
And if he agrees with this, then this can not be the basis for reimbursement of payment.
Yes, I see that the buyer did not download the model. If СGTrejder honestly does not correct the statistics in case of a refund, so as not to upset the artist :-)
Thanks
