WildCat (CGTraders) task submission error regarding flipped UVs

Discussion started by knightyrawal

Flipped UV found in objects:
Object "dvd_player_mesh" has flipped UVs in UV layer(s): "UVMap"

I have been getting this error when submitting a task on wildcat; I have checked in Blender where i designed the model none of the UVs are flipped in there. The exported fbx does have any flipped UVs too. I tried making different UV maps but getting the same error every time. Does anyone has knowledge regarding this error.

I have the same problem, tried every way of unwrapping, have no overlapped faces, good normal orientation, nothing is working. Please help!

I am having the same problem, in my case I work in max and the checks of max, as well as mine and the reviewers, is that there is no overlapping, but still I have thrown the work back many times because of this problem. Fortunately, when I send them several times a writing and images to prove that there is no overlapping, they end up checking it themselves instead of just looking at the error that comes out in the verification program. I have also done many tests and the problem persists, so I guess it is because the verification program does not like some kind of shape in the islands. Separate pieces, separate the islands by a lot of space, redo the uv several times, redo the textures, nothing works. If someone can find the solution, please share it, so they will stop throwing our work back.

I realized it is flipped uv also if you have a polygon unwrapped in a way that one vertex gets inside the "square", if it is distorted like not being a square, but rather a form of V. I hope this helps.
